Aisha with Miriam,
Mombasa Go-Kart

Baraka, Aisha and Miriam
October 2017 I went there in the morning as I wanted to see what happens there. I had heard so much about it and I thought to myself ...." why don't go to see it for myself.
I went there with a friend. The owner of the place Mr. Rolf picked us from Mtwapa town. We were told to dress for a hike and a hike is exactly what we got.
The drive there was peaceful....it was great to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city. The place is quite....I could hear myself think! There is plenty of birds...it reminded me of my home county (Kwale).
Am a village girl......born and raised it was good to have such a reminder.
I got to learn about the Mpingo tree and its value which I was not even aware of! In our village while growing up I used to see those trees but no one bothered about them now to come to learn that we have been sitting on a goldmine!
I saw how conservation starts with one individual. The land at Ngamani has been rehabilitated it is lush and green compared to its neighbours.
There is a bee keeping project on site where I was informed that they have also stingless bees but I didn't dare try to find out if it's true that they don't sting! I just took their word for it!
There is a water harvesting project where they harvest rain water during the rainy season. They have a huge underground tank for that purpose.
The farm is even rehabilitating the magroove forest as the locals were cutting them off. There is a fish pond and I got to see some rare orchids too. All in all I did enjoy my visit and its something I would recommended to anyone who loves nature.
Kenya Horticulture Society North Coast November 2016 It was one of our most enlightening outings we have done for many years.

April 2015 Saturday was a really superlative day. It was one of the best trips I have ever been on and know Doris feels the same. Ngamani is indeed a 'paradise' and the work that you and your team have done is truly somethng to be very proud of. The trees, the up-coming forests (of various kinds) are like an oasis in a desert and it is good to see that some of your neighbours are taking a leaf from your book and are trying to do the same with their own plots. The orchid house was an added wonder.
